Dubai Police says ‘Case closed’ in death of Bollywood star Sridevi
Dubai police on Tuesday handed over the letters for the release of Bollywood star Sridevi’s body to the Indian mission here and her family for embalming, Consulate General of India said.
Actor Sridevi’s body has been handed over to her family and officials said the Dubai Public Prosecution has closed investigation into her death. Sridevi died in a hotel room in Dubai on Saturday. A forensic report said she “accidentally drowned” in a bathtub after losing consciousness. The superstar’s body is now being embalmed and is expected to be flown back today to Mumbai where last rites will be held.
Boney Kapoor son Arjun Kapoor flew to Dubai today to be with his father Boney Kapoor as he wraps up formalities and takes the body home to Mumbai, the family said.
Update: Dubai Police has handed over the Consulate and the family members letters for the release of the mortal remains of the Indian cinema icon Sridevi Boney Kapoor so that they can proceed for embalming.
